  • Why I'm Thankful Today

Even though I haven't been around the blogging scene much lately, I wanted to pop in today to congratulate my friend, the one and only Amanda, for reaching her 100th Thankful Thursday post.  For those of you not in the know, Amanda has set aside Thursdays, almost every Thursday for the past two years in fact, to blog about those things for which she is thankful.  I can't tell you how much her thankfulness has inspired me to look around my life for things to be thankful for, and, in turn, what a blessing that spirit of thankfulness has been to me.

So I'm going to count this as my Thankful Thursday, too.

I'm thankful for Amanda, and her thankfulness.

I'm thankful for her beautiful spirit.

Most of all, I'm thankful that she's my friend.

  • Update!

So a couple of weeks ago I told you guys about my friend Jess's brother Michael who was in a motorcycle accident and in pretty serious need of prayer.  Well, I got some awesome news from Jess this weekend, and I thought you'd like to know.

    So says Jess:

"Josh! Great news: Michael went home from the hospital on Saturday! He's exhausted, but the dr's said there's nothing more they can do and he's breathing on his own and eating enough to not need round-the-clock monitoring. God has done so far beyond all that we could think or ask... Thank you (and your friends) for prayers and encouragement!"

    Like I said:  Awesome.

  • Prayer Request

    Hi everybody,

I just found out on facebook that the brother of a friend was in a motorcycle wreck this morning and is apparently in the hospital in pretty bad shape.  Would y'all please pray for him and his family?

I'll say thanks now, because, awesome people that you are, I know you will.

  • Saturday was one of my favorite kind of days.  It was dark and rainy and windy and cold; one of those nearly perfect fall days when the best place to be is inside with a book or a movie, and a steady supply of warm drinks and fuzzy socks (preferably green, I say).

I did venture out for a little while, just to smell the wind a bit.  (I also got the mail and spashed in a puddle...)  It was glorious.  Truely.

Have I mentioned that I love Fall?

    Cause I do.  A lot.

Good times were had by all.  (Even if it was raining. )

    Happy 233rd Birthday, America.
